Roland has the skills and determination to further the city’s progress and success representing all our city’s residents. Although he and his wife moved to Washington only a couple of years ago, his presence has already made a significant difference. He’s quickly gotten involved in several community advocate organizations dedicating many hours of his leadership skills, business acumen and technical knowledge to their efforts.

Roland has an impressive background of international and domestic professional experience with innovative, growth oriented companies at varying professional levels ranging from individual contributor (electrical engineer) to project management, and then on to division management, and sales and marketing director while helping grow the company from a single location employing less than 100 employees to an international corporation of over 2,500 employees.

During that time he developed the skills we need to help Washington grow and prosper……just as his company did. He understands financials, budget development and resource management. He’s an effective short and long range planner who understands the value of effective planning and budgeting. He’s an engaging leader and a solutions oriented progressive thinker.

He understands progress requires investment and there is seldom significant reward without (cautious and well managed) risk. His leadership style relies on motivating individuals, effective negotiating skills and building consensus to accomplish mutual goals. Roland is not one to sit on the sidelines, HE GETS THINGS DONE!
